What the site does
We group NHTSA campaign records by make, model, model year, component, and campaign number. Vehicle pages summarize the campaigns associated with that model-year and link to the source detail, consequence, remedy, and affected-vehicle list.
What the VIN tool does — and does not do
The VIN tool decodes the vehicle's year, make, and model, then opens the corresponding aggregate campaign history. It does not determine whether a campaign applies to that individual VIN or whether a remedy has been completed.
For the official result, use NHTSA's VIN lookup , the manufacturer's portal, or an authorized dealer.
Source, freshness, and limits
Recall campaign data is processed from NHTSA's public API. We publish the generated timestamp, latest included campaign date, and coverage rather than claiming an unsupported update frequency. Complaints and incident statistics are not included in the current public dataset.
NHTSA and manufacturers can revise campaigns, remedies, affected populations, and urgent instructions. Never use this directory as a substitute for a current VIN-specific check.
