Privacy Policy

No accounts or user profiles

MyRecallCheck does not offer account creation, saved garages, or user profiles. The vehicle search uses a static index delivered to the browser.

VIN decoder requests

When you submit a VIN, the browser sends it to NHTSA's public VIN decoder service to identify the vehicle. MyRecallCheck does not place the full VIN in its own page URL, analytics event, or generated recall dataset, and does not provide an account in which the VIN is saved.

NHTSA receives that external request under its own privacy and logging practices. After decoding, MyRecallCheck loads aggregate campaign history for the identified model-year; this is not an official VIN-specific open-recall result.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page use and whether core tools work. Custom events record actions such as selecting a search result, completing a VIN decode, or loading a comparison. Our event properties do not include the full VIN or typed search text.

Cookies and browser storage

MyRecallCheck does not use advertising cookies or create a first-party tracking profile. Hosting or security providers may process ordinary request information needed to deliver and protect the site.

Email

If you email us, we receive the address and information you voluntarily include. Do not send a full VIN, government identifier, financial information, or medical records. Messages may be retained as needed to respond, correct data, or protect the service.

External services

Links and browser requests to NHTSA, manufacturers, dealers, or other third parties are governed by those organizations' privacy policies. MyRecallCheck is not responsible for their practices.
