Reported Aug 29, 2005NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC.1 catalog make

Component recorded by NHTSA

Child Seat › Latch Strap

Campaign summary

CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH POWER REAR SEATS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 225, "CHILD RESTRAINT ANCHORAGE SYSTEMS." THE LOWER ANCHORAGE BRACKETS IN THE REAR SEATS DO NOT MEET THE LOCATION REQUIREMENT IN THIS STANDARD. THIS MAY CAUSE DIFFICULTY IN ATTACHING SOME CHILD SEATS TO THESE BRACKETS.

Consequence

IF A CHILD SEAT IS NOT SECURED, THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK OF INJURY IN A CRASH.

Remedy in the source record

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE LOWER ANCHORAGE BRACKETS WITH MODIFIED ONES TO ENSURE THAT THE STANDARD IS MET. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 17, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT INFINITI AT 1-800-662-6200.

Confirm current remedy eligibility, parts availability, and completion status with NHTSA, the manufacturer, or an authorized dealer.
